Our Week Ahead ~ Tues 09 Nov 2015

This seems to be the year for further afield field trips - and 2015's family holiday found us exploring the very far North of New Zealand.
After attending a Christian Convention - which was a time of spiritual refreshing and blessing for all of us - we then managed to get all the way up to Cape Reinga; along with exploring some of the other heritage/history spots in Northland.
Cape Reinga 2015.  We managed to have the entire space to ourselves.  That's Jay down at the Lighthouse. "Screen saver" shot taken by Dn.
Te Waimate Mission Church.  (Entry is free)
Te Waimate Mission Station is one of our favourite places to visit in Northland, it's so peaceful (perfect for a picnic) and rich in history!  Even if the house is not open - it's been closed both times we've visited - the church is open; just turn the key and go in.
Te Waimate Mission House. (Only open Sat-Mon)
If you drive to Te Paki (giant)  sand dunes, like we did, the cost to climb and enjoy them once you get there, is nothing :)  Well worth the trip!
That's Jay right at the top of one of the dunes. They are seriously steep!
The Historic Gumdiggers Park, below,  does cost to go through, but it's worth it; it's very interesting.

We have only 3 weeks before we close our academics schedule for this year, though Jay will continue to work on Cosmos (an Australian online Science course) for the remainder of the NZ state schooling term.
I know that as soon as we close our working schedule for 2015, our home will be taken over with crafts, pre-Christmas activities, and the sound of audio stories playing back to back.  Looking forward to it!!

I don't know where my note went...I put a new note up on Monday? That is weird! Thanks for sharing the pictures, so neat to see!

That is weird Tracy!
(I couldn't find it tucked in the spam section or waiting for publishing folders)
We're in a slightly ;-) busy space just now, apologising for not getting to this sooner.
Hoping things are going well for you and your family!! and that you're getting to enjoy all the work you're putting into your new home.
Thinking of you with so often - especially as we see all the little critters being born.

I wonder if I didn't pass their "are you a robot" test?! They make you click on specific images and I guess maybe I didn't click all the right ones? Oh well! You know how much technology and I do not get along!!!
Dh and Dd both went to our Indiana farm last weekend together---Dh went deer hunting (no luck) and Dd spent the days with Giz and Grampy. Meanwhile, I stayed here in MI and got the insulation put up in the garage attic, worked on our pool (long story), and a few other odds and ends. It was really nice to just work, work, work and not have to stop to make lunch or do dishes...I had a really nice weekend alone with the pets. Of course I worked a little too hard and now I am fighting a sore throat! I did manage to go to church by myself...though I got lost for 40 minutes and arrived 15 minutes late!!! Gasp...I have a thing about not being late, so this was a hardship to me! But, I put my head down and went in anyway! Praying for you all each day, dear friend! You might think about posting a new critter on your blog?! perhaps??? Love to you! and I'm drinking Throat Coat today---do you have that one? it is a tea for sore throats-

Tracy,
sent you a pm :)
(We don't have Throat Coat tea.... I surely could have done with it the last 4 weeks!)

Change that :D
we can get Throat Coat tea, (16 teabags for approx $8 NZD)

We can get it for $4-$5 per box, and it really does seem to help my throat. I just ordered some more, as I have already used my last bag and it isn't even December! I do hope your sore throat has begun to improve; 4 weeks is a long time to nurse a throat. Dd has had her sore throat for almost that long. Going to go see your new post! TTFN
