Our Week Ahead ~ Monday 14 Sept 2015

We've had our much loved Nana here for a few days, and I'd rather spend time with her than type up my week ahead schedule :D
However, needs must that we get back to our regular learning week, so this line up will probably straddle this week and next.
I thought I'd add in my reading and listening basket, for this week, too.

Starting September Wednesday 16, 2015

Bible
All:  Proverbs Chapt 18+

Mum's Audio & Book Basket
  • The Three Hostages ~ Buchan    (audio. just completed. Enjoyable listen, old-fashioned political thriller. Contains references to occult pratices.  Part of the Richard Hannay series)
  • The Power House ~ Buchan (audio) (Buchan's first attempt at a political thriller)

Christmas is coming up and so we're starting to look at crafts for all of us to be thinking about making; in my travels I found this tutorial on making a knife; which Jay might be interested in trying his hand at  ☺
Currently all he's interested in doing during craft time is painting his (tiny) plastic models ...

Daisy has been look for a pattern to follow to make a knit Maxi skirt and we found one on that same site, Creations, which uses Simplicity pattern #1616.
We found this pin, or this one,  but I think it'll be easier for Daisy to have a set pattern to follow for a first clothing sewing attempt.
Before I hit publish .....these crochet dishcloths make good stocking stuffer's for those who cook n clean.

And just a few critter picture to close this post:
One of our heifers, Cocoa, and our Bichon, Leroy, decide to greet each other with a lick  :-D
(Click photo for a closer look)
Daisy cuddles Roast, one of this season's lambs.
Roast's twin, Toast.

We just had our "Nana" (in our case, "Giz") visiting us (Grampy too). Like you, I didn't get on the computer much to enjoy every minute with family. Now that they are gone, I will be able to spend a little more time and get to come back and read this post again. I listened to a sample of that Dickens, Barnaby audio---what a great voice that narrator has! I'm going to have to listen a little more! Thank you SO much for the super cute critter pictures!!!! Awww, and double Awww! I can't decide which picture I like more! I've been missing chatting with you and need to squeeze in a proper note to you soon! Sending you love and a big hug!!

Is Cocoa a black Jersey?

@ Tracy. I've been reading along with your blogposts (via bloglovin') and agreeing..... we need to have a catch up when things settle down abit, here and there :-D
Jay said to tell you he prefers Simon Vance's reading of Barbaby Rudge over Sea Barret's .
(I prefer the one listed in this blog post ;) )
Thanks for the love and a hug!!
Sending the kiwi version your way too, along with prayer.

@ Allie. Cocoa is part (3/4) black Jersey, I can't remember the other 1/4 (perhaps angus?) -
She is a very sweet cow, and so friendly.
We're thinking we may get her with calf, maybe ;-)

Hope your new learning year is going well!!!!

I thought Cocoa had a definite Jersey-look to her. I've seen a black Jersey before (and privately wished one of mine would have thrown a black heifer calf), but not owned one. Angus would definitely help explain just how dark she is. Love the picture of your sweet girl!
